James Vernon Taylor is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. Five times winning a Grammy, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. Taylor made his breakthrough in 1970 with the number three single "Fire and Rain" and reached number one in 1971 with the record "You've Got a Friend", written by Carole King that same year. His 1976 Greatest Hits album was certified Diamond and sold 12 million copies in the United States. After his 1977 JT album, he had a huge following over the decades. Each album he released from 1977 to 2007 sold over a million copies. He experienced a resurgence in chart performance in the late 1990s and 2000s, when he recorded some of his most award-winning works. He made his first number one album in the United States in 2015 with his record Before This World.
